Picea glauca 'Perfecta'® is a dwarf selection of white spruce, bred for its exceptionally regular conical form and compact growth habit. This evergreen conifer features short, densely packed needles in a blue-green to silvery-green tone, providing year-round color and texture.
Typically reaching about 1 to 1.5 meters in height and up to 80 cm in width over many years, 'Perfecta'® grows very slowly, making it an excellent choice for small spaces, container planting, or structured landscapes. Its naturally tight, pyramidal habit requires no pruning to maintain shape.
Ideal settings include:
Formal garden designs
Terraces and patios
Rock gardens
Foundation or entryway plantings
It thrives in full sun, prefers moist, well-drained soil, and is hardy to cold climates. It also shows tolerance to wind and urban pollution. As with other dwarf spruces, it's low-maintenance, though regular watering in hot, dry conditions is beneficial to prevent stress and spider mites.
