Juniperus sabina 'Tamariscifolia', commonly known as Tamarix Juniper, is a tough, low-maintenance evergreen conifer featuring a broad, mounded shape and attractive, soft-textured blue-green foliage. Growing to about 60–80 cm in height and 1.5–2 meters wide, it forms a dense, layered mound with gracefully arching branches.
The finely cut foliage is a mix of scale-like and needle-like leaves, giving the plant a feathery, tamarisk-like appearance. The color holds beautifully throughout the year, shifting to a more muted blue-gray-green in winter. Its natural form is neat and rounded, making it an ideal choice for foundation plantings, rock gardens, low borders, or as a ground cover on banks and slopes.
'Tamariscifolia' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and once established, it is highly drought-tolerant. It’s also resistant to deer, air pollution, and urban conditions, and requires minimal pruning to maintain its natural shape.
This variety is a favorite for both residential and commercial landscapes where structure, softness, and year-round evergreen color are desired.
